List of mammals of the Azores
This is a list of the mammal species recorded in the Azores Islands, Portugal.〔The taxonomy and naming of the individual species is based on those used in existing Wikipedia articles as of 9 January 2013 and supplemented by the common names and taxonomy from the IUCN where no Wikipedia article was available.〕 One of the most remote archipelagos in Europe, the Azores were completely devoid of mammals prior to their discovery in the early 15th century, except for marine mammals and two species of bats, and all present terrestrial mammals in the islands are therefore introduced.
The following tags are used to highlight each species' conservation status as assessed by the IUCN.
Some species were assessed using an earlier set of criteria. Species assessed using this system have the following instead of Near Threatened and Least Concern categories:
